Introduction
The Crushing Superintendent is responsible to assist the Crushing Production Manager with related crushing functions to ensure the overall success in the crushing mine plan.
Job description
Safety, Health and Environment:
- Good knowledge and understanding of the site COP for TMM and all relevant procedures and instructions
- Monitor and Develop Safety Systems as per Mine Health and Safety Act, COPs and SOPs
Production Management:
- Initiate Crushing and screening processes as set out in the mine plan
- Oversee loading and hauling from the crushing pad
- Assess production performance on a daily basis
- Ensure production targets are met in a safe, environmentally sound and cost-effective manner
Maintenance and Equipment Management:
- Assist with crushing and screening repairs, services and general maintenance within scope
- Assist with planned maintenance schedules and resource allocation
- Understand the requirements of the OEMs maintenance standards
- Assist with implementation of OEMs maintenance standards and execute accordingly
- Monitor services scheduled according to machine hours
- Scrutinise the downtime information in the control room system to ensure accuracy
Labour and Quality Management:
- Over inspections on planned maintenance work should be monitored
- Discuss ‘comebacks’ with subordinates to identify any training needs and/or poor work performance
Minimum requirements
- National Senior Certificate
- B-Tech Mechanical Engineering Qualification
- Supervisory qualification will be advantageous
- Candidates must have a valid driver’s license
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory designation
- Proven experience on crushing and screening machinery in an open cast mining environment
